Successful implementations demand rigorous discipline
and clear communication throughout the project lifecycle. Milestone
accomplishments, charted at the outset of every engagement, are governed
by our 8-step delivery model.
Step 1: Discover
Web development is a collaborative endeavor in which ideas
will be translated into real-world applicatons. We use Discovery to
establish project dynamics, validate working assumptions, and forge
consensus. Depending on the engagement, a range of requirements is documented
for approval.
Step 2: Plan
Skychaser utilizes the Planning stage to incorporate key
findings from Discovery into actionable items and project plans for
constructing a non-functional prototype and executing subsequent development.
Functional and technical specifications are documented for approval;
in addition, site maps, product taxonomies and other planning specifications
may be produced.
Step 3: Prototype
Skychaser’s Discovery and Planning efforts are geared
specifically to informing the design and production of the Non-Functional
Prototype, a static HTML rendering of all pages and elements of the
presentation layer. It is in the Prototype stage that ideas are crystallized
and validated through a comprehensive assembly of user interfaces for
each area of the site. Before Skychaser commences with any actual development,
the prototype will be thoroughly evaluated and agreed to by the client.
Prototyping ensures predictability in development and
sets the stage for successful project outcomes. By exposing hidden,
overlooked or unforeseen development costs, the prototyping effort enables
the client to more effectively prioritize functionality using real-world
examples.
Step 4: Develop
Only after the Prototype is client-approved do we move
forward with Development to create the actual customized solution. We
utilize a rapid application development strategy and industry-standard
tools. This stage is tightly scripted and includes rigorous unit testing
and daily builds.
Step 5: Test
Quality Assurance is a critical component in the final
deliverable. It is during Step 5 that Skychaser conducts its quality
assurance to secure the functionality and stability of all modules as
they interact with one another. As application development proceeds
from early alpha, beta, then Deployment and through to Acceptance, the
Testing effort runs concurrently and all results are documented.
Step 6: Deploy
The Web-based solution is released to the client under
controlled circumstances for final QA.
Step 7: Accept
The Acceptance period (typically 30 days) commences upon
the Deployment of the application to the public Internet (or corporate
intranet). Any remaining issues are pursued to resolution. Administrative
and system documentation are finalized for client review.

Step 8: Maintain
We support what we build. And because our applications
are designed to be scalable and extensible, we're prepared to grow the
system as your business needs grow.
